I currently have the follwing installed:

Video Card(ATI Radeon HD 4650 – 1GB - CrossFire Mode (Dual Cards))

I am looking at installing 2x of

HIS H557F1G Radeon HD 5570 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161324

How are the Radeon HD 5570's?

Why even Crossfire?  Micro stuttering, which does in fact exist WHEN using multiple video cards degrades image quality.

Its also noisier running more then one video card and hotter.

You are better off buying the SINGLE most powerful video card you can afford.  Better for noise, heat and image quality.

Agreed, Crossfire can be good but as ZigZag said there is micro stuttering, noisier, runs hotter, plus also uses more power(although not a deal breaker). I would also agree get highest video card you can get instead of crossfire. Then later if you wish to Crossfire go for it or if you can afford two high end cards then by all means but just keep in mind about the micro stuttering, extra heat, little bit more power consumption, and extra noise. I wish you the best of luck

Are you planning on one 5770 or are you going to crossfire two of them? If you are still wanting to crossfire them look at a review on legionshardware about two 5770's in crossfire. Anyhow if you are not planning on it do a comparison of the cards you are thinking of getting so you can see the difference for yourself. If you can afford one 5850 or a 5870 that is honestly the route I would go unless you wanted to wait for Fermi and try to buy one of them. I don't think the price tag on the Fermi is going to look appealing though to most.

Off the topic, Promise not to hijack here, but to clarify, you are talking about single card not single GPU correct? As of the moment standing , the crucial GPU choice of mine is clouded from masses of mixed research and mixed feedback on the difference of performance of 5870@Crossfire vs single 5970. The testimonials that scare me the most is the fact that the 5970 downclocks itself more than it needs to, therefore giving you the performance of a gt240..etc. From in depth research it seems to do this on a single configuration too.

Small update:

I'm starting to zero in on this card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447

From what I have been researching, IT can be OVERCLOCKED quite easily.

For now, I think i will do single card and then when I get more $$$ then buy an exact duplicate of this card.

what do you guys think?

Those benchmarks look very promising!

On a side note wth is going on with the Tom Clancy's Endwar . No matter what resolution or AA on or off

the cards take a big hit! Is it running on a new graphics engine?
